Aussie fighter, Jack Jenkins, endured a devastating injury during his clash with Chepe Mariscal at UFC 293 in Sydney. It is suspected that Jenkins dislocated his elbow, forcing him to tap out just three minutes into the second round.
Injury occurs during duel next to cage fence
The incident took place while Jenkins, 29, and Mariscal were duelling next to the cage's fence. As Mariscal attempted to kick Jenkins to the mat, Jenkins tried to brace himself for the impact by landing with his body weight on his elbow, resulting in the injury.

Mariscal continues, despite hearing Jenkins' arm 'pop'
Mariscal, 30, claims that he heard Jenkins' arm "pop" during the fight. However, he continued as the crowd reacted negatively, landing a few blows to Jenkins' head. The referee eventually called off the fight, and doctors rushed in to assist Jenkins.
Mariscal defended his actions, stating that he can't stop when his opponent says something, but rather when the referee tells him to. He even quoted Al Pacino's Scarface, telling the booing fans, "Say hello to the bad guy," and shushing them as the fight came to an end.

In another fight at Gamebred Fighting Championship in Florida, Brazilian fighter Fabricio Werdum suffered a brutal eye injury in his bare-knuckle fight against Junior dos Santos. Dos Santos emerged as the winner via a split decision.
