Floyd Mayweather was fought by the Irishman in 2017.

McGregor, 34 has been linked to a return to squared circle after suffering three losses in his four previous MMA bouts.

Paul believes McGregor should welcome back Mayweather in a thrilling rematch.

The Problem Child spoke to DAZN Boxing Show and said that "Me vs Conor McGregor (than Mayweather) is a much bigger fight."

"We've seen that fight. Conor vs Me will be more competitive, more s*** talk and more entertaining.

"This is the one that everyone wants."

Paul, 25, remains unaffected despite McGregor's insults following his last callout.

The American fighter claimed that he was still fighting, knocking out people, and that he needs to be active again. Who knows when that will happen.

"I believe these two things must happen and it has to happen at some point.

He said, "You know what? He's a businessman and I'm a businessman. That's $75-100 million [PS63m–PS84.3m] each of us.

McGregor called Paul a "flop", and a “nobody” in his response.

Paul was further insulted by him tweeting "You've had 2 fights and 70k buys."

Paul has no opponent at the moment, after two bouts on August 6.

After the withdrawals by Tommy Fury Jr. and Hasim Rahman Jr., his Madison Square Garden card was cancelled.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer has been called out by Chris Eubank Jr - who at middleweight weighs three stone less than him.

McGregor teased, however, that he would be back in the Octagon soon after UFC 277 in a tweet voice note. He said: "I'm buzzing because I want to return.

"Good fights, good fight nights, good cards, and good pay-per view inspire millions all over the globe.

"Thank you so much for all the entertainment. I'll be seeing you soon."
