Preparing for the Cage
Jake Quickenden, the singer turned MMA fighter, is set to make his debut in the OKTAGON MMA cage on November 4 in Manchester. However, he has been advised by coach Javier Mendez to put in "countless hours" of sparring to prepare for the real fight.
Training with the Best
Quickenden is currently training with British veteran James Webb as well as Javier Mendez, who formerly coached Khabib Nurmagomedov. Mendez has emphasized the importance of getting used to taking hits and developing a strong mentality.

Getting Mentally Strong
Mendez advised Quickenden to focus on his mindset and to bring a strong mentality into the cage. He emphasized the need for extensive sparring sessions to prepare for the intensity of the competition.
A Winning Attitude
Mendez stressed the importance of adopting a winning attitude and visualizing success. Quickenden and his opponent, comedian Paul Smith, must enter the competition with the mindset of doing nothing but winning.
Staying Relaxed
In order to conserve energy, Mendez advised Quickenden to stay relaxed throughout the fight and not get too hyped up. This will allow him to focus on executing his game plan and perform to the best of his abilities in the cage.
TMZ's Take
Jake Quickenden is gearing up for his MMA debut and has been given some valuable advice from coach Javier Mendez. With hours of sparring and a winning mentality, Quickenden is ready to take on the challenge in the OKTAGON MMA cage. Will he come out on top? Only time will tell.
