Since March 2019, when they got into a heated backstage dispute at a London event, the fight between these two rivals has been in the works for three years.

Edwards and Masvidal have maintained verbal arguments since then. Gamebred recently called Edwards a coward. However, they have never been in competition inside the Octagon.

The highly anticipated bout will now take place in two weeks.

This battle will be part of what is shaping up to be an action-packed night.

UFC 269 will see Dustin Poirier take on Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title.

Amanda Nunes will face off against Julianna Pena for the women's title in bantamweight.
