Max Holloway's most controversial UFC decisions were 'robbed' by Volkanovski to GSP and Diaz, Jon Jones, and Jon Jones

Dana White, UFC president, was forced to admit that he had to tighten up the judges after controversial scorecards were posted on Fight Island during lockdown.

Max Holloway, the promoter, was utterly shocked that he was subject to a defeat in a split-decision match against Alexander Volkanovski in 2020.

White isn't the only one to call for fighters to not leave the decision up to the judges.

Here are seven scorecards that SunSport has made controversial.

VOLKANOVSKI Vs HOLLOWAY, UFC 25,1, 2020

Holloway dropped Volkanovski twice in the first round, and again in the second as he built up an early lead.

The champion did manage to fight his way back in by the third round and won the championship round.

Still Holloway was landing better shots, despite Volkanovski’s late pressure. Most scored the fight at 4-1 or 3-1 in favor of the challenger.

Volkanovski's aggressive style won him the title - much to disbelief from his fans who watched from home.

ST PIERRE Vs HENDRICKS UFC 167, 2013, 2013

Although Georges St Pierre's legendary reign as welterweight seemed to be over in Las Vegas, he managed to escape with a narrow split verdict.

GSP showed a battered, bruised face and announced that he would leave the UFC without rematching Hendricks. This angered White.

Promoter: "I want fairness and this was not fair. The Nevada State Athletic Commission is a terrible organization.

"You owe the fans, the belt, the company, and Johny Hendricks that he has the opportunity to fight again, unless you decide to retire."

CONDIT Vs DIAZ, UFC143, 2010, 2010

UFC fans were shocked when Nick Diaz lost to Carlos Condit for the interim welterweight title.

Many believed that Diaz was the one pushing the action and dictating the pace. Condit was accused of being too negative.

White disagreed and believed it was a tactical, smart fight. Diaz refuted this assertion.

He stated that he was not going to accept that it was a loss. I continued pushing him back throughout the fight. I took him down. I think this MMA is over. It was a great time."

UFC 75: BISPING Vs. HAMILL, 2007, 2007

Bad scorecards were a profiteer and a victim of UFC legend Michael Bisping.

He was injured and bloodied against Matt Hamill in round one and was taken down twice.

Bisping claimed he won but admitted that even his closest friends believed he was lucky.

He stated, "Even very good friend of mine that night, came up to me that night and said, "You know mate? To be honest, I think that you lost that fight."

GUSTAFSSON VS JONES, UFC 165 (2013)

Jon Jones found himself in trouble after three rounds against Gustaffson, a challenger who was not well-known at the time. He was finally defeated for the first round.

The champion managed to claw his way back in with a spinning elbow in round four, turning the action upside down.

Although the bout was close, round two was decisive. However, all three judges scored Jones' victory.

Gustaffson was outstriked and he landed the same number of takedowns, but his fans were stunned at Gustaffson being taken into deep water.

Jones won the rematch in 2019, with a devastating three-round domination.
