OKTAGON MMA awards record prize money in Europe

Semifinals of €1 million "Gamechanger" welterweight tournament

OKTAGON MMA is making waves in the European MMA scene by offering prize money that has never been seen before on the continent. The promotion's "Gamechanger" welterweight tournament has reached the semifinal stage, with a €1 million (£850,000) prize pot up for grabs.

Four fighters remain in the win-or-go-home tournament

The "Gamechanger" tournament began with 16 contenders, but now only four fighters remain in the running. The semifinals will be held in Frankfurt, Germany on September 16, with David Kozma facing off against Bojan Velickovic and Louis Glismann taking on Andreas Michailidis.

Guaranteed prize money for fighters

Each fighter in the semifinals is guaranteed to take home £68,000 (€80k), and the finalists will receive at least £110,000 (€130k) from the €1 million prize pot. Pavol Neruda, co-owner of OKTAGON MMA, emphasized the promotion's commitment to rewarding fighters with the pay they deserve.

Focus on fighter health and financial rewards

Neruda also highlighted the importance of the fighters' health and well-being. He stated, "We want to create heroes with this tournament, but our fighters’ health is the most important thing, and financial rewards are important." As OKTAGON MMA continues to grow, the prize money will also continue to increase.

Broadcast deal with Channel 4 and YouTube

OKTAGON MMA has also secured a broadcast deal that will bring their fights to a wider audience. The promotion will be streamed on Channel 4 and their official YouTube channel. The first show, featuring X Factor star Jake Quickenden making his MMA debut, will air on November 4 in Manchester. Quickenden's journey from "Stage to the Cage" will also be documented in a series available on Channel 4.
