Pre-Fight Altercation in Sydney
Sean Strickland, set to challenge middleweight champ Israel Adesanya at UFC 293, recently revealed that he punched a fan in the streets of Sydney just days before the highly anticipated title fight.
Antagonized by Fan
The incident occurred in Bondi, when one of Adesanya's passionate fans approached Strickland and allegedly made derogatory comments about the fighter. Strickland, thinking that the fan wanted a photo, was caught off guard and swiftly delivered a punch to the fan's stomach.

Justified Reaction?
Strickland has defended his actions, stating that he will not tolerate anyone disrespecting him. He firmly states, "If you wanna come up to me and run your f***ing mouth, I'll smack you like I smack anybody else."
No Regrets
While Strickland does not deny the assault, he claims that the fan did not press charges. He even suggested that if they were to meet again, he would thank him for not taking legal action.

Sydney Street Altercations in the UFC
Strickland is not the first UFC fighter to find himself in a physical altercation on the streets of Sydney. In 2017, former heavyweight champion Fabrizio Werdum threw a boomerang at Colby Covington after the latter made controversial remarks about Brazil. Covington pressed charges, resulting in a fine for Werdum.
Strickland's Thoughts on Covington
Strickland did not hold back in expressing his opinion about Covington, describing him as "fake" and a "soulless, spineless man." He criticized Covington's behavior and accused him of fabricating his character solely for financial gain.
