O'Malley, a fan favorite, fought to secure a spot in Tuesday's bantamweight top-15 with a dominant first round stoppage of the Brazilian.
The contestant, aged 27, was determined to steal the show. He stated that he felt like he had stolen the show and that if he wins, 'I plan on stealing it again."
The Minnesota mauler kept his word and delivered.
O'Malley stated that he believes he is one of the most tough guys he's ever fought.
"But when those shots are taken, I'll take you out."
O'Malley was happy to operate on the outside of O'Malley's octagon during the first stages of the stanza and to make the most of his reach.
BJJ genius Paiva tried to stop the fight from getting underway early, but was unsuccessful.
O'Malley used oblique kicks to establish a range which he then discovered with pin-point jabs.
Paiva was not too affected by the accidental groin strike of Suga.
O'Malley danced around his Brazilian foe after the restart and repeatedly tagged him while he tried to close the distance.
Chants of Sean O'Malley saw the smooth striker slip further into his groove and he responded with a stunning straight right hand after a picture-perfect jab.
O'Malley dropped Paiva with his beautiful right hand just moments later.
Fan favourite Paiva, who was a fan favorite, smelled of blood and fired shot after shot at Paiva's pain. He managed to get back on his feet.
After being captured by a flurry shots that sent T-Mobile Arena into panic, he was quickly back on the ground.
