Usman, 35 years old, is currently preparing to defend his welterweight title for the sixth time later in the month.
Brit Leon Edwards will attempt to dethrone UFC 278's pound-for-pound king in a rematch that has been seven years in the making.
Birmingham's bruiser Edwards hasn’t lost defeat since that match, winning nine out of his last ten Octagon appearances.
His achievements have impressed Usman who recently stated that Leon is sharper due to his striking.
"He is a master of striking. Let's be real.
"We saw it during the fight with Nate Diaz. He tortured him for nearly four-and-a half rounds.
"And then Nate Diaz did the best thing Nate Diaz does, go in there and take all the glory.
"You didn't know Leon Edwards won that fight? Leon is a much better fighter, I believe.
"His grappling has improved greatly, his wrestling has improved significantly, but I am also much better."
