Khabib Nurmagomedov stirred controversy by calling them 'useless and unnecessary'
Although he did not direct UFC president Dana White not to cancel their participation on fight night, he personally doesn't see the need for ring-girls.

"What are their functions? I have a question.
"You can demonstrate that it is the second round of the screen.
"I realize there is a history with ring card girls. History is full of mistakes. To avoid making mistakes in the future, we must read the history.
"If you look at the history, it shows that they are ineffective. This is my opinion.
Dana White may like it. Maybe you do, too. My name is Khabib, not Dana. My name is Khabib.
"I'm not against it. You can do what you want. Don't force it on me. It's okay to do it.
"There are designated areas for it. It is not a good idea to mix them all. This is my opinion.

"I want people know that. No one can say they're useless. They are exactly where they need to be.
They were there at the beginning. You will attend any event and see beautiful women. And you, as a male, will enjoy it.
It's beautiful! This is decoration.
"That's why I am sending this message: Beautiful women can be a decoration at any event."
Shevchenko, 33 years old, took photos with Saturday's ring girl and shared them on Instagram.
She captioned her post with the following message to reinforce her message: "Beauty can save the world", a quote by Fyodor Dostoevsky, a Russian novelist.
Brittney Palmer replied quickly after Khabib's comments, while Luciana Andrade (one of the most well-known ring girls) appreciated Shevchenko’s public gesture.
She responded with a loving heart and said, "It's women supporting women for me."
