Colby Covington took aim at Jorge Masvidal, a rival fighter, ahead of UFC 272
This week, he has made an absurd claim about Conor McGregor's wife in order to rekindle his rivalry with Dustin Poirier.
As he responded to the comments of his foe, he now has his former partner as his opponent.
Masvidal claimed that he had taken Covington under his wing in his early MMA days, and provided him with food as well as accommodation.
Covington also accused Chaos of not paying his bills or paying his coach payments - a charge Covington has chosen to fiercely defend.
Brett Okamoto was told by him that he had been fabricating fake news and narratives for the entire week.
"None of these journalists does their job, they talk of I lived on his sofa... No bro, he didn't, I lived in his house, I lived in his home. I'm talking to his ex-wife, Maritza, Maritza Colado, Maritza Massvidal, they are still legally married.
"Just ask him: "Why are you trying delete Martiza's history? Why are you deleting Martiza and wiping away her from the internet?"
Covington said: "She did so many for us... He was a poor fighter, he lost, he didn’t have sponsors, he wasn’t having you know big-money fights at that point, but he was an up and coming fighter.
"I was a poor college student so I didn't have any money. She gave me a roof to shelter me, fed me, and cleaned my house every day.
"He gave her two children and now he's a deadbeat father, he doesn’t want to admit his mistakes."
